The Rediscovery of Ondiep
The Rediscovery of Ondiep started when I found a yellow ball on the street Ondiep, the neighbourhood where I live. This yellow ball became a guide for the way which I, through images, react on the space around me. While wandering, it changed the way I look at this neighbourhood. It turned the streets into a theater of pavements, walls, windows and doorframes. Of garden chairs, children’s toys, ladders and vehicles. Of light and of shadow. Besides that, the series is about photography itself, about what happens when a three-dimensional space is translated into a two-dimensional surface. By playing within the public and photographic space I want the viewer to reconsider their own views and raise questions about what is real and what is not.
